Bicyclist/pedestrian deaths are preventable & it's past time that Brookline take action. Instead, the TBoard will spend part of this week's meeting discussing creation of a "car user advisory committee" because a vocal minority says that motorists are being "neglected" www.reddit.com/r/Brookline/...

Thank you to our Safe Routes to School taskforce members & friends and to especially the Brookline Police bike unit for your assistance with the Pierce bike bus this morning! We had about 20 kids and a dozen adults join a ride from the library to Pierce @ OLS and everyone had a great time! 🚲

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ The Town of Brookline - including our public schools and libraries - formally recognizes June as “LGBTQIA+ Pride Month” thanks to last fall’s WA 25 resolution. The library has some great Pride month programming planned: www.brooklinelibrary.org/2026/05/20/c...

#BrooklineTownMeeting night 3 (and last?) is underway! Yesterday I was so excited about presenting the article I led that I forgot to post - but happy to share that WA 23, a resolution to increase Select Board stipends and create School Committee stipends, passed (and a referral motion failed).

#BrooklineTownMeeting has begun! First up - “seedling” Select Board member Anthony Buono is giving remarks on Article 1, appointment of measurers of wood and bark. Lots of tree puns! 🌳

Most of Brookline’s library funding comes from the town, but we still use state resources like database access that are supported by federal funding. Cutting IMLS funding will most negatively impact rural communities & smaller systems who rely on this funding to provide basic library services 😢

American Library Association

NEW: The President once again called to eliminate federal library funding in his federal budget proposal. We have been here before. And when we make our voices heard, we can overcome this again. Tell your Senators to reject the cuts & #FundLibraries in next year's federal budget: ala.org/showup

The Board of Library Trustees just voted unanimously to support the override and encourages everyone to vote yes! If the override fails the library could lose funding for a part-time library assistant. Vote yes and support your library, schools, and other town services.

Yes for Brookline

The Select Board has officially voted to place a $23.25 million override on the May 5 ballot! Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves & make sure the override passes. Come to our kickoff this Sat., 3/28, 11:30-1:30 @ the Brookline Teen Center (40 Aspinwall Ave). Sign up to volunteer: yesbrookline.com

Hugely disappointed in the Transportation Board for cowing to opposition from some neighborhood residents & postponing pedestrian and cyclist safety improvements for all. Our "process" blocks progress on housing affordability, sustainability, new growth to support school funding, safety, & more 👎

Sam Mintz

“We love our process in Brookline, and the residents are used to the processes taking place a certain way. I don’t think we necessarily followed our usual process in this case," said Transportation Chair Brian Kane.

Using a sticker rather than a transponder makes it harder (impossible?) to bring your E-Z Pass with you in a rental car, meaning you’ll incur rental car company fees 👎 It is deeply frustrating that this cashless system penalizes folks who don’t own a car & can’t get an E-Z pass for occasional use

Nik DeCosta-Klipa

Starting this Sunday, MassDOT will no longer hand out those plastic-cased E-Z Pass transponders. Instead, you'll get a sticker. Here's why: www.wbur.org/news/2026/02... @wbur.org
