The Longest LitRPG Series Ever Written Is Finally Getting a Paperback Release Next MonthOne of my favorite stories of all time is finally getting a paperback release after 10 years and millions of words.
The Wandering Inn is a fantastic story that just keeps getting better over time. What started as a free web serial has evolved into a massive world of words that spans 21 books so far (and counting!). These books are now available as eBooks and audiobooks, but the first-ever physical paperback is arriving next month on August 11.
With the Dungeon Crawler Carl series becoming a mainstream franchise in just a few short years, other self-published authors in the LitRPG genre have started taking a similar leap to physical editions and I'm here for it.
I had the chance to interview the author earlier this year and asked about the evolution of the series. Pirateaba had this to say about the long journey to get to this point: "The paperback is the first project I feel like I and my team have pushed for. It took years of pitching the story to find a company that was interested and for the wave of LitRPG’s to allow a deal to come together."
They went on to thank popular stories like Dungeon Crawler Carl, Beware of Chicken, and Arcane Ascension for helping to boost the popularity of this type of story, saying: "Traditional book companies wouldn’t be paying attention to web serials but for the fact that all of us are making a splash. A rising tide lifts all ships, and I hope I am helping in my own small way for another author to do what they want to."

## What Is The Wandering Inn About?
For those who haven't read any of these books yet, I can give you a quick rundown of what to expect. This is a LitRPG series, so much of the story is rooted in people from Earth getting pulled into another world where they can gain classes, level up, and earn skills. Much of the story centers around one such Earth girl named Erin Solstice, who finds herself stumbling upon an abandoned inn after barely surviving the harsh new world she got pulled into. And while The Wandering Inn is the heart of the series, it's the story of all of the characters and races that Erin touches throughout the books that make it so special. Pirateaba does an incredible job weaving together plot lines to create a believable and ever-evolving fantasy world slowly being influenced by people from another world.
If you're new to The Wandering Inn, I'd suggest reading it online for free to start. If you prefer to listen to books, I also highly recommend checking out the audiobook versions. The first book is one of the best fantasy audiobooks to use your audible credits on because it's over 48 hours of content.
