vimlena.com they/she bassist/guitarist (@celebrityduis.com) https://typo.social/@vimlena I love computers and typography. I am 30 or 40 years old and I do not need this.

Scrolled past that and was like, well actually the next iteration would be x128 but we don't need them because x64 already has high enough memory/number potential to last to the heat death of the universe. Scrolled back and realized it was a 67 joke. lmaoooo

love her tbh, have fun!

Oh word that rocks, I'll try it out. Definitely preferable to a whole long URL sometimes. Am really enjoying Witchsky btw, appreciate your work on it 🙏 It’s my default client on my laptops and desktop

I was curious, what’s the syntax for inserting links like that without just copying the whole URL? Is it like a typical Markdown or like Wikitext syntax?

(None of this is to say that the service industry isn’t something people can find meaning/value in or enjoy, I am just autistic and the sensory hell of any given bar or restaurant kills me. But it taught me to stay cool under pressure, learn to cope with stress, and communicate effectively.)

Totally. When I tell people who haven’t worked in the service industry that I did so for around a decade, I get the feeling that they don’t see it as a real job or as something they’re above. For me, it’s something that sucked but taught me a lot of professionally useful skills and got me to now.

I think I was interested in what was going on there to some extent at the time sexually, but my primary motivation in all things I do is to have more novel experiences and learn. People have such interesting variations in their preferences and the kinds of cultures and relationships they build.

LMAO thanks my mom was a pastor and I obsessive read the bible cover to cover several times and extensively discussed and debated about it with her & other church leaders. This thread brought to you by me joking that I’m glad I didn’t have to move today because I’d have to build a second ark.

The other part of this is they’ll pretend like it’s the greatest book ever but they don’t read it. And I know they don’t read it because if they did, they’d realize that it’s like ⅓ interesting mythology and sacred history, ⅓ boring lists of names/places, and ⅓ the weirdest shit you’ve ever heard of

(Grabbing a Christian and shaking them) The whole point of Jesus is so that you don’t have to worry about the “Old Testament” my guy. Those laws don’t apply to you anymore because of Jesus, that guy your whole religion is based around from the holy book that you ostensibly read. Fucking hell.

Not to be like, adjacent to the south through my extended family but I very genuinely believe that biscuits and gravy with eggs and savory grits of the platonic ideal of breakfast to me. Would never get tired of having that every single day of my life if given the choice. Has never been topped.

Disclaimer: I am associated with Chicago House, but do not monetarily benefit from any of the funds raised. It literally all just goes to the emergency client fund and helping clients pay for surprise fees/expenses and quality of life improvements not covered by grants or donations.

- We agreed that Jimi Hendrix is the best guitarist - Pink Floyd is good but they didn’t like Rush or Zappa - They only let me play Motown stuff sometimes and were sympathetic to Marvin Gaye - Grateful Dead was out of the question - Once I brought Metal Machine Music to piss them off - No Eagles

I know that because of being in a alternative rock band people may think that I primarily listen to that but I was raised playing church music, blues, and jazz, and it’s where all of my formative experiences come from. Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and Grateful Dead were my main guys for quite a while too

This is slightly abridges but Hayley and I basically did just have this conversation

Omg the transparent background looks fucked up here. Anyway

Totally yeah! I think about her design of the Dogcow character all the time. The way it became like a running joke with lore is so funny to me (web.archive.org/web/20040202...)

Oh nice that must have been cool!! Yeah I'm very inspired by how she drew from her experience with like textiles and crafts to work in a new digital medium and design icons/UI elements we still basically all use today. That specific kind of cross-domain knowledge is always fascinating to me.
