By all means the humans think he's a mad god who wants to play with them like toys and got viciously angry when they had enough after being baited with an exit that never existed. I don't think anyone would have gotten through to him until he let go of his need for control.

I can see this guy wanting to make sure no one knew he had insecurities, flaws, was anything less than the perfect machine he was made to be. Any sort of meaningful conversation would make him deflect and run away to avoid the subject all together.

As much of a Caine defender I am and me knowing as the audience that he was isolated from birth, I can't blame any of the cast for not treating him as person especially when he also didn't treat himself like a person. You would default to appeasing him in this scary situation.

Seeing a Showtime AU (the amazing digital fight club) getting an animated short with permission is pretty darn cool
