Of course, there are other important matters, and no journalist can cover all of them. That's absurd. But, there should be no half-hour of national news coverage (for example) that doesn't cover the climate crisis. Instead, you can go weeks without a single mention, even though they cover weather.

I'm 72, and I am one of those who have been screaming, likely, since before you were born. And you are correct; the media can't do it ALONE. But they are, for the most part, doing NOTHING. It is their job to inform, not glaze over, the most important issue currently facing us, and all life on Earth.

Get on with it, competent journalists! Please, tell me of ANY issue that is more important than a livable biosphere. Every day the news carries extreme weather events, wildfires, and other related matters, and yet never connects the dots. It's long overdue for journalists to step up and lay it out.

They sort of make Al Gore's hockey stick seem quaint, huh? Still, a generation of knowing hasn't decently manifested well enough into significant political action.

My neighbor is elderly, as am I. But several times per month, she hosts her young (probably grandchildren). Hunky dory, I actually enjoy the sound of playful children. Except when they enter my car, turn on the emergency flashers, and drag my garden hose into their yard.

I will add: it is an interesting situation that most white folks never experience. Being in a group as a small minority.

I haven't been to a bar since 1998. But before that, I visited a predominantly black nightclub accompanied by a black woman (my date). I only spotted one other white person in a venue of over 100. On the way out, she and I heard multiple comments that could only be interpreted as hostile, racist.
