This is about as good an example as you could find about how this site can be really miserable sometimes - people who are so hopped up on their moral high horse about defending art that they’re shitting on actual artists.

As someone who *does* want to support real artists, I’m very happy to listen to what they’re telling me and not assume they’re dishonest liars.

So basically you’re saying you think the actual artist is a liar? Pretty weird stance to take for somebody who is ostensibly trying to support artists.

I do think you’re wrong for willfully ignoring a statement from the actual art team because of something (an art book at a SDCC presentation) that wasn’t developed by the actual art team.

If you’ve been told by an actual lead artist (who generally hate AI art more than anything) from the team and you won’t take their word for it, you want a witch hunt.

👇 In reference to that SDCC Avatar Aang slide everyone is talking about. It was a page from an artbook, and the reference to Chat GPT was likely injected by the person who put the book together. Actual artists like Kat who worked on the film have no idea why it says that.
