The Morrell has never looked particularly library-ish when you first enter as all our books are upstairs, so some book wallpaper would be nice anyway - but it would be even nicer if the 'books' are titles that mean something to our students and staff... We've done something similar before >>

To say we're sorry about this is an understatement... Alternative facilities are in the Burton (when it is not closed tomorrow evening) and the Fairhurst (whose toilets were closed today but are now re-open). Apologies, everyone.

Apologies for the disruption - the library remains open and operational throughout (still 24/7 not another couple of days, then back to 8am - midnight). For anyone needing items from Compact Store, you'll be able to request them via YorSearch and we'll do a once daily collection, Monday to Friday.

We've put word out to the inventor of the Babyliss Crazy Braid that we need their input on the Library's Collection Development Policy as soon as they have a window.

Someone check what the Temple Run people have to say about Open Access, so we can update our policies accordingly.

The biggest users of the materials in Compact Stores are @uoyenglishrl.bsky.social, @uoylangling.bsky.social, @uoyarchaeology.bsky.social, History and History of Art, if anyone can repost the above into their respective timelines!

The books on Floors 1, 2 and 3 will remain available as usual. The Help Desk and Reception points will move around during the course of the work! But will remain available. We'll update here when we get more details finalised.

Not suggesting they’re reporting us! Just that the (inevitably unsupervised AI tool) TikTok use to catch impersonators might not be able to tell the difference between university of York and York university…
