Democratic Socialists want to phase out private corporate control of the economy. Social Democrats want to use high taxes to fund welfare programs while keeping capitalism.

Exactly. People (inc. me) hate Manchin but he’s the only Dem who could win in WV, which currently has the staunchest Trump supporters in the US.
Dem districts come in all flavors and different types of candidates are needed for each. Let’s not trash each other over that.
For like 60 days. And he didn’t always have Lieberman (most notably on healthcare), Kennedy was out with a brain tumor. There were a couple of others toward center right I can no longer remember. The constituents in those districts/ states bear the blame, not him.
They're in disarray and we'd be better off campaigning for social democracy reforms based on successful EU models rather than hitching ourselves to DSA. That's all.
I worry about the general, though. This year is important and we don't need unforced errors via DSA talking points.
I don't think anyone on bsky is basing values on Fox opinion. This convo was in response to people saying that Fox was lying about the DSA positions. Positions they've clearly stated for years. Ironically, the DSA candidates winning are the ones disavowing DSA positions. They're in disarray...cont
