Mainstream press/politics ppl doing Covid revisionism is just another one of those "let's chase the opinions of perceived Farage voter" moves tbh. It's purely career driven because again, ppl like this were/are insulated from the reality. No skin in the game ever.

Like there wasn't really a "lock down" at all, and absolutely none for a lot of us. Everyone that could be defined as a key worker was. I was still going to work in a fucking science centre through 2020. If you worked in a supermarket or were a cleaner, it was just same as normal but you might die.

Covid one of those things that exposes class lines pretty starkly.

We've been seeing it for a while. Having trans people as the test case for social eradication leads through the rest of lgb, to abortion, and neurodiversity. Trajectory towards control/maximising of labour and reproduction via moral outrage. Work or produce workers or be outside the social contract

I'm glad there's a Neuromancer work on the way, but it's really reminded me how the most 2020s cyberpunk novel is in fact Snow Crash and Neuromancer is going to feel far like something from the past than even from the present.

Sucks so much that Bf3/4 and 1 were so good (as evidenced by constant server stats), and for very clear reasons, and rather than pursuing those mechanics, EA decided to just both abandon them for copies of whatever was the in thing (cs:go money load outs, hero shooters, BR) and gut the company.
