Studying more general sorcery is formal and costly. Thus, more limited in access. Though depending on where you live in the setting, someone else may be willing to foot the bill. The Chorus does, for example. Some places might offer free sorcery education in exchange for a period of service.

20. In general, music doesn't really inspire me and I don't listen while I write. The only exception is Six-String City, which I made a playlist for to act as reference the whole time I was writing it. Can't write rock fantasy without listening to rock music.

17. The saddest thing I ever wrote was a short story about a man who realized his drug and gambling problem drove away everyone he cared about, and when the last person who cared about him died, there was nothing else left for him. I never did publish that story.
