What this suggests to me is that a top Democratic messaging priority should be to educate the public about the kind of wonk-coded electoral reforms that get geeks like me and Andy, but almost nobody else, excited. How the hell they can actually do that is a tougher problem.

There was little difference between the reforms known to produce a multi-party system (PR, fusion) and the ones which, whatever their other merits, do not (single-winner RCV, top two). People are open to reform but not familiar with the options.
