Colorado got Herrington from the A-League (Brisbane Roar) for $800k + Brisbane kept 20% sell-on. Colorado then bought out the sell-on for $560k, JUST TWO MONTHS AGO, right before the World Cup. That sell-on ended up being worth at least $3.4m (up to $4.6m) Tidy work by the Rapids.

Tom Bogert

🇦🇺💣 BREAKING: Hull City has reached a verbal agreement to sign Australia int'l defender Lucas Herrington for a deal worth up to $23m, per sources. - $17m (!) fixed fee - $6m add-ons - 15% sell-on clause of any profit - Deal not done, but just formalities www.nytimes.com/athletic/748...

RBNY v Orlando is the official "defense is for ugly people" game.

I can't believe Middlesbrough is going to let Hull City get an MLS player like this. (Also Herrington shouldn't go to Hull, they're going to be historically bad)

Paul Tenorio

Sources: Hull City in discussions for Colorado Rapids center back Lucas Herrington, but the deal is NOT done. The 18-year-old Australian could be Premier League bound, but work to be done on the deal still. With @david-ornstein.bsky.social @dtathletic.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/748...

MLS England. Also if you think about it, they traded Latte Lath ($22m) to MLS for: McGree - $4m Morris - $4m Malanda - $8m Berhalter - $2m Arfsten - up to $7.5m Pretty good work by them! Got to root for them to promotion.

Tom Bogert

🇺🇸 At Middlesbrough, Max Arfsten will join: - Aidan Morris (former Crew teammate, joined 2024) - Sebastian Berhalter (former Whitecaps, Crew academy midfielder, joined this week) - Adilson Malanda (former Charlotte FC CB, joined in Jan.) - Riley McGree (technically former Charlotte FC midfielder)

VAR in an All Star Game, lol

I genuinely think it's because each new USMNT manager comes in after a crisis & then chooses a full rebuild period (1.5 years), before the team clicks (3+ years), and stays too long after to another crisis. So what if USMNT manager just leaves on a high? Likely new manager continues to build on.

The pattern consistency is eeire. Especially since there's not an improving tend over all these years. Even the peaks.

Lol, I like watching our stars having fun. Muller & Evander buying into the fun is great TV, imo

Thomas Muller, the legend!

11(!) of Liga MX players pulled out of the All-Star game yesterday. Makes you wonder about the game/format with the schedule change moving forward

With Yan Diomande's $130m transfer to Real Madrid, should mean that DME Academy & AS Frenzi are lined up for solidarity payments. Yan's 2.5 years there likely lines up like 1% ish. Which would be over $1.3m and is larger than USL's largest ever transfer fee (Wynder)

Sounders with Alex Roldan starting: 5 wins 1 tie (vs SD, winning xG 2.5 to 1.9) 1 Loss (vs RSL, even xG) Sounders without Alex Roldan starting: 5 losses in a row 1 Tie (vs SKC) 2 Wins vs HOU & SJ, where SEA lost xG 1.9 to 3.5

Jeremiah Oshan

Still trying to fully wrap my head around the reality that the Sounders went immediately from a nine-game unbeaten run into a five-game losing streak.

From the 24/25 Deloitte Report: Premier League Clubs. Saw £6.8B in revenue (+7%, +£450m) Pre-tax expenses: £7.6B (+17%, +£1.1B) £4.4B spent on player wages (+9%, +£260m) £3B spent on transfer fees (+27%, +£650m) Pre-Tax Loss: £800m (6x previous year) And that's the richest league!

Every day in football I am astounded by wage demands. I think wage caps are required, not because I believe that players should not earn to their full potential, but because the current system puts clubs at existential risk. Most clubs are losing €3-30m before player trading.

Reporting on spike of MLS ticket sales post World Cup by Front Office Sports It cites MLS teams reporting spikes of sales by 150% at times but points to the Fox viewership numbers as less impressive. Below is a thread on how to read this from a former MLS Club front office guy. 1/

Bluesky needs polls. But without that, question for those watching MLS After Dark: Q: Which Quakes CB has better USMNT potential? A. Daniel Munie B. Reid Roberts

Would trade out either Cowell or Ruvalcaba for Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty. Put JMR on the RW/RWB.
