I think that after a week or two you can openly talk about new movies, and then after a few years or even decades there's likely no reason to even talk about popular spoilers. And maybe people could be considerate of that IMHO

I think there's such a thing as a spoiler "reset" given enough time. No one really talks openly about the vader spoiler anymore. Not like in the 90s when everything referenced it etc. Now you can be 20 yrs old and never seen the original movies and not know.

We've got to buy more physical, that's all there is to it. People are shifting to buying more physical movies and CDs I don't see why it can't happen for games.

Fr I think the real issue is that no game after this will ever sell as much as it will. And they'll never make another one ever again because they won't have to, whole industry is going to be chasing that high and with nextgen consoles that cost 1k plus. Games industry is definitely not in trouble!

They don't decay the way we thought they do though, disc rot is overwhelmingly a manufacturing defect. Regular discs can last decades and blurays even longer estimated up to 100 years. And SSDs are good too but they can be subject to bit rot if I'm not mistaken. No method is perfect I guess.

Yeah but installing off disc is not just faster you have a install copy on hand whenever you need. Of course it also always holds value too. IMHO I genuinely don't find digital even any more convenient.

Yeah but the patches are a consequence of poor management and crunch, DLC a way to capitalize on existing sales. Everything is just a consequence of the industry getting worse and worse. And without physical media one less reason to have games playable prior before they print discs prior to release
