No it wasn't, hence the call for a "Confirmatory vote on the deal" in which EEA deal would have been an option. Extremism caused the 2nd Referendum to be seen as BREXIT or EU. Nobody wanted to hear anything rational.

I think he wasn't a fan of the EU but was a fan of the EEA (Or whatever it was called). I think that's what Norway is in. I think the problem is that extremism causes people to only hear EU or NO.

I used to also be a fan of referenda, but then I saw people manipulated into Brexit. I then realised that there are dangers to Universal Suffrage and I was horrified with myself as that way lays dystopia. Because of this I just think that we need appropriate safeguards whatever system we do have.

Ok we all have differing views and for the record I used to be a fan of PR. I also get the point about neutering but I just don't have the confidence you clearly do. I suppose I've seen too much already so find it difficult to believe.

PR allowed them into the Parliament in the first place before they later won the 36 election. Also you are talking about the period when the Tories were voting against themselves because they'd lost it over Brexit

Don't be so silly. Democracy can be corrupted and so it is good to have safeguards in place. Your PR dream doesn't account for that and it can also lead to political paralysis. FPTP is imperfect but better than PR because of the safeguards Hope this helps

A change to the electoral system could validate Reform by allowing them more seats in Parliament because of PR. It's not the panacea everyone thinks it is
