What could he have been in this #RedSox pitching development program?

Well, he’s pitching against a lineup with a sub-.300 on-base percentage since the middle of June.

I actually thought today was a likely day to get Rogers, White and Jones in the lineup given the long game the night before for Abreu, Ceddanne and Duran. With Contreras still out it limits being able to give an infielder a day off. But they are not chancing stalling momentum.

Garver’s .302 OBP will no doubt be an improvement on the Yanks’ .264 OBP since June 25, but that .175 avg and .294 slug are below their team avg of .202 and team slug of .355. 😎

I’ll never understand swinging at the first pitch when you have the bases loaded. Force the pitcher to throw 3 strikes. At least give him a chance to give you a free run via a wild@pitch or a walk. Every ball he throws only puts more pressure on him.

Jake Rogers probably hasn’t had an AB in over a week.

I know they said they don’t think it’s concussion-related, and I’m sure they honestly believe that based on protocol. But that sure sounds like post-concussion symptoms.

Forgot they also needed a spot for Erik Miller. So, Miller’s addition is what initiated the Watson DFA. But Bastardo could still get a chance if they eventually need to give Tolle or Bennett an innings-limiting breather.

White & Rutschman going to arrive by first pitch? Starting to wonder if optioning Romy Gonzalez to AAA might be the roster move for White so that he can take more time get his timing after being rushed from the IL. Also allows Jahmai Jones to stay. Also think Angel Bastardo could replace Watson
