Retired medical scientist. Stitcher for over 60 years, will use here to show the world my artworks. (don't call it craft!) Live at the end of the mighty Murray, ex Sydney, Tokyo, New York & Munich over the years. Cat lover, eclectic bird dad too.

This is fun. I've just been out feeding the kiddlets and having cuddles with Kai and Bobbie the galahs sitting on my shoulders. Bobbie dropped a wee poo on my arm, no drama it flicks off, but now I'm inside I've got three cats on my knee clamouring for a sniff of this strange creature's odour!

Well that was painless, just completed my census online in just a few minutes. Big difference to the pfaffing about you had to do when it was paper based and you had people banging on your door.

I'm 100% with BTS. The infatuation with someone ethnicity by americans is unfathomable. Mind you if there were a category for tuneless untalented annoying slapper I'd be OK with that. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Just had a wee afternoon nap. Ms Meaghan snuggled right up under my chin. Awww, I thought, 'she luvs her daddy!' Turns out though I had a wad of cream cheese stuck to my beard from lunch.

'You're a bit ripe, what did you do today, dear?' 'Oh the usual, getting rid of 900,000 litres of rotting fish sauce.' I can't imagine the stench. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Bonus! Three hours of ice skating on telly to while away the afternoon. Why does the British ice dancer look like some scrubber from Airdrie though, it's really noticable.

Ms Meaghan's igloo bed is getting a workout this afternoon. This view from across the room is all fout kitties piled up in what really is a bed for two max. Its a case of count the ears.

Watching the commonwealth games coverage this afternoon. Some of these weightlifting women are impressive, did you know an Indian has just broken the games record with an 85Kg snatch?

Oh, the test emergency mobile alert from the govt just went off. I expected something quite piercing that would make you jump, not the pissweak beeping we just had. Disappointing! And if you have the volume turned to off like I do on my data only phone it only vibrates. Fail!

All these posts showing some birdie with a beak full of fish and all the comments of 'ah, cute!' Or 'Lunch!' I'm sorry but fish have a right to a peaceful fruitful existence too you know! No wonder fishing is such a barbaric act. Never eaten fish, if it swims and pees in the same water, forget it!

This afternoon's choons. The Avalanches - Since I Left You. Amazingly tuneful album made using over 3,500 samples. From Melbourne and years ago they performed it 'live' in front of the Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney Festival. Bizarre, but a great show. Couple of other albums too.

Annoyed! My power went out last night about 7pm. Power cut, so I went to bed to listen to podcasts. No power this morning, so I checked the website, nothing reported. Turns out something had tripped my mains and had I been savvy I could have flicked the breaker and finished the movie. Bugger!

This is from Cambridge University. There's BBC and other articles about his story around today but this is a much more in depth exploration and a great read about this fascinating persecuted man. www.cam.ac.uk/stories/alan...

Thought I'd watch the opening of the Commonwealth Games this afternoon since it's coming from the city where I went to school. Hmmm..... I think I've had enough interpretive dance to last the rest of the decade. The wailing Sheila ruining a choon didn't help.
