In case it wasn't clear, Adderall insomnia can FUCK OFF

My kingdom for an Edit button. I'm not *even* making my game. I will get back to Bug Squashers eventually. That'll be discussed soon, as the plans for the game have shifted a bit as part of the larger plans to build out a profitable (for me) studio.

Like I mentioned before, it's also much more tied to my day job. I'm technically required to make a repo for projects above a certain value, so I'd rather just always use one so I don't forget. Having a record of all my changes helps when clients claim something "wasn't like that before" ;)

It’s more about following the ideal path than the actual one. I’d rather have the skill well developed and not need it than need it and be lost. Helps control the chaos in my head.

Yeah, it's more about repetition and muscle memory for me at this point. If you don't practice the right way, you won't play the right way in the game. That's what my coaches taught me. I'm finally letting it sink in, lol

Once I finish this last learning project, I'll get back to documenting my #gamedev journey properly. I made a decision a while back that while it's *currently* a hobby, I don't want to be making websites forever. It'll take years to build an indie studio, but I have to start. I'm doing it.

My wife insists I'm crazy (correct) and that I'm wasting time (debatable, but likely correct). It is absolutely overkill, but it's also something I'm trying to enforce with my freelance web dev work to make sure EVERYTHING is documented in case I need to bring anyone in on a project.

I haven't been able to be consistent with anything, especially my hobby, but it is without question the most joy-sparking thing I can do with my time. Without question, getting back to #gamedev saved my life. Yeah, I've got other reasons to press on, but this journey gives me the strength I need.

My life's been abject chaos for nearly a year now. It has decimated my already fragile mental health as I move from crisis to crisis without ever really getting a chance to breathe, let alone rest. Where I have found solace is in #gamedev. I'm not ever making my game, just learning Godot.

It me, setting up a GitHub Issue for each "lecture" of the last of my 3 @gamedevtv.bsky.social courses, as I've done for the previous two. Do I need to do this? No. Should I? Probably not. But I'm committed to the process of branching & doing PRs against myself to enforce the habit.

At our municipal grocery stores, New Yorkers will get a 30% discount on eggs, milk, chicken, produce and other everyday essentials. In the wealthiest city in the richest country in the world, no one should have to wonder how they’ll afford the food they need to feed themselves or their families.

What a ton of people don’t know is how Disney quietly offered healthcare coverage to queer families for decades when no one else would, in large part because so many of their employees here in FL are queer

Current corporate politics are being heavily influenced by their recent fight against an “activist investor” as Conservatives with money are trying to force them to abandon queer support. It’s working, but only partially.

Living basically in Disney World also creates a very different perspective (good and bad). They run the economy of Orlando/Central Florida in every meaningful way (good and VERY bad), and are also why living here as a queer person is kind of lovely.

Something I still find funny is how I’m seen as a Disney Adult, but that’s not my vibe AT ALL if you actually know me. People can like things and appreciate them without buying into the corporate bullshit.
