games with clearly defined weapon lists using completely arbitrary weapon stats, are easier to expand than games that are designed around improvised weapons I think I’m on my third game with the goal of making a universal weapon formula, and everytime I complete one I realize there’s nothing to add

I was singing that jingle the whole shopping trip. Lol Finally checked out the upstairs area and apparently that’s where they keep the Halloween and Christmas stuff. Didn’t realize those items were available year round

And because “Boxes” aren’t actually a tracked inventory item, instead they are effectively purchased mid battle by healing your opponent, the different quality boxes would have different costs: Regular Box $ -1 damage counter Great Box $ -2 damage counters Ultra Box $ -3 damage counters

Publishing this game just 6 days after its conception means I made some mistakes Rolling a [1], or a [2] should result in the monster breaking out of the box Also, there should be different quality boxes Regular Box [6] = Capture Great Box [5] or [6] = Capture Ultra Box [4], [5], or [6] = Capture

You’ve sparked an idea in me… What if there were multiple draw decks: Pokemon, Trainer Cards, Energies, etc and you rolled the D6 to determine which deck to draw from? Maybe do what you suggested and draw an energy with every pokemon/trainer card and assign tarot-like meanings to the energies…?

Haven’t put too much thought into it yet , but maybe energy cards could be nodes where the routes branch off?

btw the official inspiration to write a character who’s confident smirk is more noticeable their missing teeth is my own kid Their top left central incisor, top left lateral incisor, and top left canine have been missing for over two years now. Their adult teeth are growing in, but extremely slowly

Some details can go in many different directions: example “Jamie is missing teeth” - She’s confident, it may be a sign she’s adventurous - Everyone knows she rejected Hayden, maybe his “protectiveness” is just violence - If she’s the horror, her teeth marks would be recognizable

And then like a game of Guess Who, there’s also appearance details per character that sometimes overlap: 2 have beards 2 have glasses 2 have braids 3 are identical triplets all 12 wear the same cloak

I also did “Obvious, Curious, Hidden” details for each family: King cards have a relationship detail everyone in town is aware of Queen cards have a curious detail that can be used in various ways Jack cards have a secret that they are hiding from their family and neighbors

That is unsettling in the best way I’ve always loved the idea of Mr Mime being a bug that has evolved to mimic a clown. Imagine his “hair” as repurposed pincers
