Note: no need to use private equity when the government is the monopoly creator of the pound. Paying money to private equity is a waste of public money that creates wealth disparities.

There is no need to borrow from anyone. The state has a monopoly on money creation. We can pay for social care with state created funds the same way we could pay people during covid.

Observable evidence: If you examine central bank balance sheets during periods of large government spending you can see dramatic increases in reserve balances. Those reserves were not collected from taxpayers beforehand. They were created as accounting entries.
