I think it's disingenuous to call it Rock Music. 'Rock' can mean many different things. Be specific. Is it granite? Basalt? Limestone? Those are very different things!
Based on word of mouth, it sounds like Christopher Nolan has made a banger and the Odyssey is leaving moviegoers absolutely gobsmacked.
Once again, the people trying to make hay out of its politics are the people who haven't actually seen it.
If you leave a movie thinking about its politics, it was probably not a very good movie.
Unless you are terminally online and have a severe case of brain rot.
These reactionary culture war chuds rely on people not actually watching the movies they go after. No one who has actually watched Mad Max Fury Road is thinking about how woke it is. What they're thinking about is that it had a monster truck with a heavy metal guitarist on top of it.
Two hours later the movie ended. Dad peeled himself, wide-eyed, off the back wall and shuffled quietly out of the room without saying anything. He has never brought up "Mad Maxine" again.
One day I mentioned the movie in passing and he muttered something about "Mad Maxine." I said, "You know what? This is stupid. This is one of the greatest action movies of all time. Sit down, we're watching this," and pulled out my blu-ray of the movie.
