Final two days to catch Alas Alas in Auckland!

Alas Alas is open daily, 10am-4pm, until July 25th at 16-22 Anzac Avenue, Auckland.

You can capture a single moment and an angle in a photograph but it's no substitute for experiencing objects firsthand and interacting with them in space and time. Instagram has a way of flattening everything to short visual candy hits. Come by, stay a while.

On an entirely non-footie related note: folk of Auckland, come along tonight to the opening of Alas Alas, my first solo show in your city.

The thing is, this strategy doesn’t appear to be working anyway! It’s a damning indictment on NZ Labour that given the lack of fervent public approval for this current government, and the continuing state of the economy, that a National-led coalition might still squeak back in.

Having seen the trouncing UK Labour has had in local elections it’s hard not to extrapolate. Last election their strategy was very similar to NZ Labour’s now: keep your head down and promise little. Turns out hoping voters continue hating your opponent more than you doesn’t have a long shelf life.

Asher Emanuel has crafted a book vital for public education, discourse and our collective moral development. But in order for it to achieve these, it needs to be read. The names Nathan, Rikihana and Lewis should be on our lips; they are keys to unlocking the conversation we need to have.

Thank you! Extremely relieved, after everything, that people seem to like the final result.
