Also, as someone who grew up in rural Alberta, I have never heard anyone extol the symbolism of a cowboy hat as standing for "honesty, hard word, and integrity." I have never heard of it symbolizing values and the importance of keeping one's word. I think Barlow watched a few too many Westerns.
