When I was 9 (4th grade) I won the school’s bike rodeo. This was a sort of test of rules of the road for cycling that we did on the school blacktop (recess area). I didn’t know there was an overall winner, but I won it and got a little trophy and everything (not sure what happened to it though).

I've said it before but please stop copy pasting ai companies' press releases with no critical judgment And stop attributing human agency to ai. It cannot plan or think. Also patch your zero day exploits please

What I'm saying is, someone did a bunch of work setting up a website for this absolute grift. Click on SF, I dare you! (I'm giving away the punchline, but the ONLY book there is Dune.)

What kills me is that I have NEVER EVER heard about these supposedly huge communities/companies they run. I mean, that doesn't mean they *don't* exist, but ...? Oh, and I googled this and it's HILARIOUS! Brand new, 'she' started it, photo is of a dude, and they have (drumroll please) 2400 members!

I grew up in Vegas and not really but it depends. If you live at the edges, like literally in the desert, you might get some on the road. But it’s not like there are sand dunes. It’s all very scrubby, so a lot of the dirt is held. The thing I remember most was dusting off the tv screen daily!

I left academia 4 years ago and was so absolutely burnt out then before AI was on the scene. My workload was killing me. I can only imagine the lack of spoons academics have now trying to fight yet another fire that management has made their responsibility to put out and then do all the admin for.
