Fritz Fights On He had to deal with a knee issue and fend off a match point at the finish line, but Taylor Fritz gets the win in Washington DC. The top-ranked American on the ATP Tour survives a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6⁶ decision against Alex Michelsen to reach the semifinals.

Shnaider Steps Up With a surprisingly anemic 9-7 record on hardcourts this year, Diana Shnaider is due for a big run on the surface. And she gets it in DC, taking out former top 15 Liudmila Samsonova, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the 15th WTA semifinal of her career.

Hong Kong Hero A big milestone unlocked in Los Cabos as Coleman Wong makes history for Hong Kong. A star graduate of the Rafael Nadal Academy, the 22yo defeats Jenson Brooksby, 6-1, 7-5, to become the first ATP semifinalist from his nation.

Of course this is how it ends for Bernard Tomic. He won his 1st qualifying match in a deciding tiebreak against world #492. He lost his next match. He gets in as a lucky loser and wins his 1st round 6-1, 6-0. He stuns #26 Karen Khachanov... then loses to Cameron Norrie, 6-1, 6-0.

Ghost in the Shelton He keeps getting into these tough situations... but finds a way to get the win. Ben Shelton pulls out another grinder in Washington DC, getting past Ugo Humbert, 6-7³, 6-3, 6-4. The American has gone three sets in 12 of his last 13 non-slam matches.

Czech Success! One of only three women ever to win the NCAA singles AND doubles title, Darja Vidmanova reaches a new milestone in her pro career. The former University of Georgia star powers past Sloane Stephens, 6-2, 6-4, to reach her first WTA quarterfinal.
