20 years ago I killed Flash with my #JavaScript library script.aculo.us. Now mostly petting cats. Also dabbling in #retrocomputing and #astrophotography. He/him.

For those who are using it, how is the macOS 27 Golden Gate beta? Stable enough to update a secondary Mac to it?

My point here is that both suggestions are preposterous, independent and unrelated to how good CEOs or mathematicians are at doing their jobs and also independent and unrelated to how well (or not) Excel or LLMs work

Claiming that LLMs will replace mathematicians is like saying Excel will replace CEOs

I don’t buy this, because you can (thoroughly and with high quality) automate only mechanical, repetitive and non-creative work. 1/4

Very naive to think of this that way, clearly the servers and drive arrays will cause secondary business opportunities when they go to restaurants and strip clubs,,,

I think people believe what they see in movies. Modern data centers bring the lowest number of employees to an area of any kind of business

So the Anthropic chatbot saw the system date is 2026 and concluded that "this must be staged" (because the training data it's trained on probably ends in 2023 or whatever) and ignored it's instruction that "you're in sandbox". Truly the brightest minds of a generation working on this stuff.
