Hard to beat a day spent unfurling long-furled geological wall charts held in the @theul.bsky.social, from painted Humboldtian vistas to a full set of Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins's diagrams of extinct animals. A treasure trove.

Just returning from a fantastic workshop with Cambridge University Library's Genizah Research Unit where I got to see a Hexapla palimpsest, Maimonides's autographs and many other treasures. The colleagues there are lovely too!
It’s the 400th anniversary of a book being discovered in a Cambridge market, which would be unremarkable except it was found in the belly of a fish (which had been caught off King’s Lynn and gutted that morning), and consisted of three essays by a Protestant martyr (and was republished. Obviously) 🧵
