I love Ethiopian music. I have the entire Ethiopiques series that came out over the years in 30 CDs. One of the best musicians in that series is Mulatu Astatke, who melded jazz with traditional Ethiopian music. The result is amazing. The Guardian spoke to him recently.

It’s pictures. A roll of FPP Infrared, shot this weekend, mostly at a food truck festival yesterday. I underexposed the roll by one stop because EI 3 wasn’t hand holdable, but EI 6 was (barely) according to my meter. Developed for 9 minutes, 2 over suggested, in Rodinal 1:25. Hope they’re in focus.

Went to a food truck festival in the next town over. There was a truck serving kielbasa and pierogi, the food of my ancestors. That’s dinner sorted. Yay!

Since it was my birthday and I knew I had to renew my car registration this month, I looked at my driver’s license and realized that it expires today, and I couldn’t find the renewal form. Oops. Thank you, New Jersey, for having a way for me to renew my license AND renewal without those documents.

Had dinner at a nearby Italian restaurant that we had never been to tonight to celebrate my birthday. It's been a pretty low key day, but dinner was excellent.
