I am grateful that these new laws will be taking effect tomorrow. After the shooting in Biddeford, the time is now for reforms. We are a country founded by immigrants. Individuals should not be targeted on the basis of their immigration status when attending work or school or seeking medical care.

My heart goes out to the city of Seattle after this horrific tragedy yesterday involving gun violence. Thousands of people were attending a food festival that has been held at the Space Needle for over four decades. Three people were killed. People should have been safe not fleeing due to gun shots.

I realize that one political party more than another is engaged in uncivilized behavior. Since I followed up with an officer abiut a police report, I have had to listen to three different men make jokes about me being shot. I have dealt with gun violence. It's not comical. Sociopaths threaten harm.

I tend to use humor to deflect difficult situations. However, my undergrad advisor died six years ago from cancer. He was a nice man but we weren't in contact when he passed away. I could try to hold a seance if certain people would like to interrogate his spirit but I would rather let the man RIP.

I tend to question the priorities of this administration when it deems a disabled, grad student/single parent, who advocates for moderation, to be a target worthy of their attention. I am trying to study, folks. When I hear a certain accent referencing names, I am like give me a break, people.

What I am trying to emphasize is recognize the humanity in someone who is different than you are. The Bush family has strong ties to ME. W's younger brother, Jeb, is married to a woman, Columba, who has Mexican ancestry. America is a melting pot. Embrace our diversity and recognize it as a strength.

While I may not have agreed with GWB's policies when he occupied the oval office, I do respect him for being a compassionate human being. My grad school will be featuring some of his art work. I hope to attend the showing because he is a talented painter. #FindCommonGround

I recall Amy Coney Barrett mentioning that she wears a bullet proof vest to work and being horrified. Violence is not the solution. Listening is.
