@fedora.fosstodon.org.ap.brid.gy About 10 years ago I first tried Linux gaming with WINE and it went horribly. Now, thanks to Fedora project, I am playing games on Linux in 2026. I have finally left Windows behind for good. KDE Plasma also looks great, feels great.

I recently tried out Steam on Fedora Linux 44, and I have had a seamless experience out of the box. EVERY GAME LAUNCHED. Total War: Warhammer 3? Launched. Helldivers 2 with anticheat? Launched. Space Marine 2? Launched. War Thunder? Launched. I am the 1% of the 1%.

@waterfox.net I switched my daily since Mozilla's announcement earlier this year and I love the experience. I like that I can still sync my bookmarks but also be free for an "AI last" experience instead of "AI first". The new ad-blocker is a great addition, but it's hard to let go of uBlock Origin

Office and productivity tools have been in a good place on Linux for well over a decade. #LibreOffice instead of Microsoft Office, and the modern Linux kernel has many baked in drivers. Cut the subscription by switching your business to Linux.

I received another free game on Epic Game store, but have they even gained market share? I'm seeing estimates all over the place from 6% to 15% - but it's not like it can be measured right? I use Steam primarily and I don't actually have Epic installed anymore. What about anyone else?

A few days ago I learned LG is no longer manufacturing desktop BluRay drives. I get it. Not enough buyers. But I have an archive of my collection, and continue to try and wiggle out of streaming services I don't need. I hope my drives live long.
