So many times this! It's because desperate families are sending the person they think most likely to survive a dangerous journey, because they are all out of good options. And in some cases, their hope is that this way at least one of their family will survive.

The phrase "military age men" is designed to be inflammatory and ignores reality. Yes, majority of people making long, dangerous, and often expensive routes to seek asylum are younger men who have the ability to work and earn money to bring over more vulnerable people, mainly women and children. 1/

If you're Australia-based, this is now a self-supplied sample which is a big improvement for anyone whose experiences of medical care have been dubious.

Just reviewed the criteria - this looks like it's open to the N.Z. diaspora too. You have to be an N.Z. citizen or N.Z. permanent resident, but it doesn't say you have to live in Aotearoa / New Zealand Which is great 'cos N.Z. has a big diaspora and migrants have a different set of experiences.

Since we're talking COVID: Masks work, ivermectin does not. Vaccines massively protect you and help against long-term stuff, but you need to keep up with boosters. You need to keep masking; COVID isn't over because WE DIDN'T STOP THE TRANSMISSIONS in 2020-2021. Also many are still at high risk

I've got experience of this kind of exhaustion (though fortunately not while doing this kind of work). You really can think you're awake (and be responsive) when you're not - and it can impair your judgement to the point where you're not safe to cross a road, let alone drive a car. It's horrible.
