This is the second time this week I've had to feel empathy for a guy I hate because people on the internet are evil as shit. There are things you DO NOT act this callous about. Suicide and self-harm are at the top of that list.

I think my issues with art education may have been a little misplaced. The issue is the way people weaponize art education. Using the "fundamentals" as a bludgeon against art that isn't to their taste and acting like bullying is warranted if an artist isn't putting in the effort to learn.

I have myself doubting my anatomy skills but then I pose a 3d model to check my pose and I'm... Really not that far off.

It still amazes me that the lesson people learned from AI being able to replicate raw art skill wasn't, "Oh wow I guess making a proficient image is kind of artistically useless if a machine can do it" it was DOUBLING DOWN on the fundamentals and acting like we need to "outskill" the machines...

Being a great draftsman, painter or illustrator is not the same as being a great artist. Great art is more than the sum of its parts and great artists express things that cannot be replicated through skill alone.

Eventually while trying to be "good at art" you will see the line between proficiency and artistry. One you have to be brave enough to cross. Remember what Picasso said. It took him four years to paint like Raphael but a lifetime to relearn how to paint like a child.

Maybe doing some anatomy studies would shut these losers up but I like having FUN and they can eat glass. I have nothing to prove to people like this anymore. These despicable art cops.

Finished this one. I love these two a lot but boy did this put into perspective how out of practice I am both drawing wings and characters interacting.

I always forget how much I like just some crispy lines and cell shading. It's just so unforgiving if you aren't thoughtful about your forms.

Sorry I keep posting about this stupid shark-accuracy discourse, it's just... SO stupid. So... SO... INCREDIBLY stupid. You draw how YOU want. They draw how THEY want. And we all live our own fucking lives. It's very easy!

For the record I personally enjoy when a shark looks more like a shark but I cannot stress this enough THE PEOPLE BEING LOUD ABOUT THIS ARE ANNOYING AND RUDE

It's called "creative liberty" look it the FUCK UP.

I think shark head truthers and deer accuracy truthers irritate because I AGREE with them, but they are ANNOYING and RUDE about it.
