I had family members who listened to Trump/anti-vaxxers, and they're now dead.

But I'm also a progressive voter. If better options are presented, they're going to earn my vote. The Dems shouldn't shame voters into backing them, but examine the party's future, how it will court those voters in the months and years ahead, while still making itself appeal to voters more broadly.

To be sure, I don't consider myself a "Democrat." I'm a voter who tends to vote for that party because the other option is deadly — quite literally, to groups of people I support and love, to family members, and to our society as a whole, as well as our planet.

Democratic socialists are appealing to Dem voters right now because they HAVE answers (and solutions!) to these questions. They know their stances, and can articulate them. The Democratic Party, meanwhile, is hiding behind the "big tent" platform of, "as long as we're not like the GOP, we're happy."

Fully agree. But who can't smile when they see "The Count?"
