This is an extremely fun read.

Fancy Farm is such a niche Kentucky politics event that I can't stop thinking about how many people saw this Andy Beshear tweet without any of that context in their noggins.
Tessa DuvallIt seems Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has been briefed on Fancy Farm. "Rand Paul apparently said I’d been 'neutered' by my legislature. Rich coming from a guy who’s never had a pair of balls and if he did they’d be held by Trump."
Quote from a GOP Fancy Farm attendee who wore a t-shirt depicting President Donald Trump shirtless and tattooed, speaking on Mitch McConnell: “I hope he’s a Christian, and he’s going to heaven. I’m more (interested) in where he’s going to end up when he dies, because it’s not too far away for him.”
Lexington Herald-LeaderMitch McConnell has attended Fancy Farm for decades, but he missed his last as a sitting senator due to health issues.
And on that note, that's enough internet today! We'll have more Fancy Farm pics, video and stories at Kentucky.com tomorrow and Monday. BYEEEE!
Michael Adams saw the writing on the wall: “I’ve watched other secretaries of state in my party get beat for every office they run for the last six years,” Adams said. “They’ve run for House, Senate, government, they get beat every time. This is the worst job in America to get a promotion.”
Tessa DuvallPlot twist!

Forty percent of Democrats being willing to still vote for someone accused of domestic violence or sexual assault *also* seems... really bad.

Lexington Herald-LeaderAs Kentucky faced an overdose spike in 2020, Beshear set out to help people access treatment by loosening Medicaid spending controls. As the costs piled up, so did the warnings.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says all y'all fired up about Mitch McConnell need to take your pitchforks over to John Thune's office and leave him alone.
No, Joe, you do not understand it correctly.
Aaron RuparBeshear: "There's an argument that August 3 is a date where I could not later call a special. Those that are really pushing this are under the impression a Dem might be able to win. It's been since '92 that we had a Dem senator in KY ... not having McConnell show up isn't necessarily a bad thing"
