Shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, nonexistent parking, 90+ degree temperatures, massive road construction projects downtown and the wildfire smoke made a Yahtzee of reasons not to go to the event this time.

It is / was indeed! I don't know if anyone else thinks of the nonprofit booth section as Crackpot Alley, but I do.

It's a tradition of mine to go to Crackpot Alley and shit-talk the republicans to their faces Pre-pandemic, the guy running for Congress wanted to fix health care because his daughter had cancer. I asked why he was in the party that wanted her dead. The talks broke down.

I missed Art Fair this year, but last year I *did* get to ask the sad sack running the republican party of Washtenaw County booth why he had Alligator Alcatraz merch but nothing with the actual swastika on it. He, and the two Karens at the booth, were not happy with that line of questioning.
