One of the founding fathers had a 1000 page 1st person manuscript detailing the history of the american revolution. Instead of telling the truth about the founders, he burned the whole thing. Explicitly so the lies we now call history would become US propaganda. rayraphael.com/Founding_Myt...

You have to stop reading the Atlantic and the New York Times. They exist to defend a corporate, neoliberal, war mongering democratic party bent on being slightly less evil than actual fascists. Start reading Current Affairs, Black Agenda Report, Hammer and Hope, and Dropsite News, among others.

I worked with many people for years to end the racism and exploitation in Missouri’s municipal courts. We made amazing progress. But everytime you think the battle was decisive, remember that Ferguson’s Stephanie Karr is still a prosecutor and former muni judge Wesley Bell is now a congressman.

Perfect illustration of police’s role in society: when you protest for better living conditions, lower rent, higher wages, an end to mass killing, or racial justice, they send the cops or the military to crush you. Even the firefighters who actually protect people in danger. x.com/GrandserreSy...

This is a good moment to remind everyone just how abusive even police admit they are. It’s an open secret. Even the FBI found that 40% of responding cops reported that they committed physical abuse against their spouse in the last 6 months. That’s 10 times more than the general population.

Steve Held

His ex-wife said “that she wanted to speak publicly because she had previously reported concerns to his superiors in the military about his mental health. She said he was abusive in their relationship,” and he asked her to lie for him. Exactly the kind of chud you’d expect to work for ICE.

I represent organizers who have been beaten, pepper sprayed, and assaulted by ICE. They still go out every day to help their people. We will sue, but some combo of a truth and reconciliation process along with massive cash reparations for the victims of these fascists has to be on the table.

I’m interested in any political imagination for accountability. It has to be proactive & retroactive. It has to be spectacular. And, ideally, it would leave so many of them broke that it actually becomes a deterrent. Being poor is truly all they care about not because they don’t care about prison.

Last week I filed suit against Representative Wesley Bell’s security for assaulting constituents protesting genocide. 11 years ago, I sued Bell when he was a municipal court judge for a city running a debtors’ prison. Different job, same instinct.

Abolishing ICE is the minimum acceptable position. When people first realize the violence and lawlessness of cops like ICE, they often think reform is the right thing. More training, more resources, etc. Stop wasting your time. ICE can’t be reformed. If they exist, they will kill.

ICE=cops. Cops lie. They are trained to lie. And the next time @npr.org asks for your money, tell them no. You can't quote ICE, never note that they have lied about every single shooting investigation, and keep pretending you’re a journalist. www.mainepublic.org/maine/2026-0...

Send this to everyone who lets the wealthy elite frame budgeting arguments. Never accept that we can’t help regular people have a better life. Always ask what’s possible if we don’t spend a trillion dollars on military, $250 billion on police, courts, and jails, and offer tax cuts to the rich.

ICE= cops What would it take for good liberals to apply this same argument to every cop? Cops lie every day, whether there’s a republican or a democrat in the White House. That’s been true forever. It might feel more brazen and naked now, but the underlying point is the same. Cops lie.

Robert Reich

ICE lied about how Renee Good was shot. They lied about how Alex Pretti was shot. And now they’re lying about how Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot. Don’t believe their story for a second.

People came to Wesley Bell’s townhall in 2025 to protest genocide in Palestine. They left with injuries and a clear message: speaking up about Israel’s genocide, the US’s funding for it, and Bell’s support of all that, isn’t allowed. www.instagram.com/reel/Dal4RCM...

The ONLY town hall he’s held in person during his time as congressman. Hopefully, this ends the precedent being set by elected officials, where they use security to harm their constituents when they don’t like what they have to say, or deem the “disrespectful”.www.instagram.comThomas Harvey

You don’t hate the criminal legal system enough. I watched judges issue warrants to people arriving late to court, after taking 3 buses and 1.5 hours to go 20 miles. A muni court judge canceled court for a Cardinal playoff game, with no notice to those who took 3 buses to get there.

Cops called in to testify end up missing hearings at double the rate of defendants. Yet in many places, defendants alone face the harsh consequences of jail for missing a court date:

Great explanation of how dangerous the Prairieland case is. Send it to everyone. 30 years in prison for a zine, bookclubs, and stickers the feds don't like. And don't skip @lexmcmenamin.com noting the ACLU and other "free speech" nonprofits declined to help. Unforgivably shameful.
