i made this last month as a thank-you card to the librarians who chose Hunger's Bite as a YA Fiction honoree, finally remembered to share it. go support your local library, they're on the front lines fighting against censorship and book banning, and we authors for children owe them so much!!

went to see the ATLA movie. dont believe anyone who tells you it's mid they got discourse poisoned. it's a perfectly good time at the movies

the real hardest part is reading this and not posting the good panels

first pass of a book proof is the 'just read it normally and see what you catch' pass, second pass is the dreaded speck check. a read where you do nothing but look at the edge of every panel to see if any lines escaped containment. they are a lot more obvious when you do borderless panels like i do

super cool pokopia bug where if you spend points on a cloud island it'll remember that you did that if you get disconnected, but won't remember what you bought. guess who just lost a thousand points.

i got to read a proof of book 2 for the first time since finishing it and daaaaaamn i'm good at comics. you're gonna go crazy for this one.

it's so unacceptable that the rhythm heaven groove remixes aren't remixes and don't actually change anything about the visuals. THAT WAS THE REWARD!!

i am once again asking all comic artists with tv-animation inspired styles to reconsider whether they need to be doing All That with their shading. you just need to get right with your color palettes. you don't gotta be doing all that to make your lineart look good.

it's always when i get halfway through thumbnailing a book that i think to myself 'what if i think about the scene i'm thumbnailing today while i lay in bed, before i sit at my desk with all its distractions' and wouldn't you know it. it works. and it's so annoying that it works.
