WO1 (RSM) Frank Hedges was a pre-war Regular in the RB. He was awarded the DCM for actions at Le Cateau in 1914 & the MC for actions at Ypres, in 1915. He tfrd to the Tank Corps & became RSM of 16th Bn. After the war he was RSM 2nd Bn. 100 years ago this month, in July 1926, he was awarded the MBE.

Looking at something else in the archives but came across this map documenting the revolt against conscription and French rule in the Aurès région of Algeria in late 1916. It was brutally repressed by the French, mainly using West African troops.

70 years ago on 29th July 1956 there was a Force 11 storm in the English Channel. Many yachts found themselves in trouble and some were abandoned; the RNLI rescued over 20 people. 1/10

LCpl Henry Hudson 40 RTR was seriously injured on 23rd Jul 41 in a tank accident at Redhill. He died in hospital 85 years ago today on 28th July 1941 and is buried in Bradford.

Harold Hubert Vincent was a tank commander in 1916. His life then became a little bit unusual. The first cutting is from 100 years ago in late July 1926. The second is from 1932. (He pushed her because she was about to arrest him for nudism).
