I ride on the sidewalk because my 'hood streets are two way but barely fit one car. But I only do it when the sidewalks are empty. Other riders may not show the same care I do, but generally it's controlled like a rider in heavy foot traffic. There's no good outcome when its cars on the sidewalk

Also, buses are slower than cars since they travel the same roads except they load and unload people. It's safer than impaired driving and better for the environment. Trains can be faster but my trick is taking the bus into busy areas. While drivers look (and pay) for parking, I'm at my destination

How to stack a test, use the best driving situation. Why not try this during the Friday evening rush hour with a rider on their own ebike? I've used Veos and they are useful but limited coverage.

My guess is this 2 foot wall was built in 1960 and France has chosen better views than protecting bad drivers (and fast riders)
