As long as this comes with signage to stop rubbing his nose…!
SpokesLothian👍 #GreyfriarsBobby footway widening 🤔 We trust #cycling safety will be included, or will be very nasty pinchpoint on busy 🚲route .. we have asked @edi.bike @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social @finlaymcf.bsky.social @cllrcmiller.bsky.social @chdot.bsky.social @edfoc.bsky.social @edoldtowncoco.bsky.social

Lothian Buses & Edinburgh Trams accounts have been published. Expect focus tram losses as per previous years although we don’t get clear P&L accounts for road projects (or schools, hospitals or libraries…)! Tagging the @edinburghminute.com for tomorrow’s edition - get your informed comment there!
Remember kids: wear bright clothing and be conspicuous when you walk to school.
SteveTis the day for crap driving. Russell Road, at about 1pm. Closed to cyclists as well as drivers, hopefully it's open by now though.
Unsurprising fact of the day: Glasgow built it. They came.
Alistair Davidsonh/t Keith Fuller. Says "This was what the biking was like my entire way home from work from southside to west end."
Hmmm 🤔. Is this good or bad @edinburghbug.bsky.social ?
Iain OwensonWell done CEC, another own goal. Not only have you failed to deliver any active travel improvements (contradicting your own circulation plan), somehow you manage to make things worse for bus passengers www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/no-plan...
The Princes Street and Salisbury Crags are combining to put strain on the city. Maybe there needs to be a message to the public: please walk, cycle or use public transport if you can so the transport network and emergency services can do the best they can for the city. @edinburghminute.com
Robbie AinsworthHolyrood Park: fire service to remain 'for a couple days'. Current exclusion zone includes Queens Drive and path to Dumbiedykes and Holyrood Gait. It's possible to access Holyrood Rd through the parliament grounds. Roads still busy with lots of cars turning around #EdTravCyc
Imagine how different #Edinburgh would look if we responded this way to street designs after road collisions….
EllaA short stretch of the High Road round Arthur’s Seat is closure to falling rocks. Pavement still open @edi.bike
Deliveries are impossible and as there is parking no one has visited since 1979…..
Andy Arthur💃🏰⚓🦌 Threadinburgh 🧵I happened across a picture of the original pedestrianisation signs for Rose Street in 1979 and boy were those pictogram pedestrians stylish back in the day 🕺
#Edinburgh 20mph cost £2.8mn. Results: 📉39% drop in casualty rates 📉40% fewer collisions 📉23% fewer fatalities 📉33% fewer serious casualties 🚗 Negligible change in travel time 💰£38mn saved in collisions, healthcare & productivity Still lots more streets to reduce to 20mph in Edinburgh.

Lots of social media comments indicate just how well trams give rapid access to employment and city destinations that the bus network can’t serve so quickly - exactly why extensions are proposed.
Edinburgh TramsCustomer Relations signing off for the evening. Trams continue to run between Edinburgh Airport and the West End. Ticket acceptance remains in place with @ScotRail from Edinburgh Gateway/Park into Edinburgh only, and with @on_lothianbuses between the West End and Newhaven on the 16 and 25.
The same but use Ingliston Royal Highland Centre so tourists can just mill about and be flyered about fringe artists that they’ll never go and see. Leave the pavements to locals and actual fringe goers.
Ryan VanceMary’s Milk Bar should open a second premises where they don’t sell ice cream but you do get to purchase the experience of standing in line for an ice cream since that seems to be the main appeal of going to Mary’s Milk Bar.
