This is idiotic. I saw yesterday that the cost of Jodrell Bank is similar to the spend on bespoke stationery for MPs (!) and this HiPERCAM is only £50k. Quite apart from the science and the value to all of us of extending human knowledge, governments seem unable to see the economic value.

My most memorable school trip as a child was to Jodrell Bank. The massive dishes were like nothing I had seen before and the Planetarium was literally out of this world. I’m 67 now, but that visit has stayed with me. Don’t deprive other children of that experience.

I still believe Labour is the best option for govt, but too many voters are swayed by MSM - the level of hatred for Starmer shows that. Fair point about maintaining good condition if sharing. I, like you, always use a bookmark & never turn down a page or lay a book down open. I do write notes in recipe books. That we all care enough about books to be involved with your post is probably a good take away
