Yes! If you use federal benefits, you lose them once you get married. Some states like Pennsylvania have workarounds, but only for state benefits.

Anyway, continue to support disabled people. Continue to fight for us. Continue to include us, not just occasionally, but continuously.

Let's explore in terms of this industry – why was it that only THREE (including me) people wrote about the Microsoft layoffs and how they impacted accessibility? We should be consistently thought of alongside everyone else, and just be equals with everyone else. THAT'S true disability inclusion.

You want to say you care about disabled people? Give us jobs. Give us livable wages and affordable healthcare. Give us the right to legally love who we want to love. It's admittedly tiresome when people only show up to use us Poster Examples for certain situations then immediately disappear.

Happy 36th anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. To this day, disabled people still can't get married, and our rights are actively being challenged over and over. True disability inclusion happens when we're equals to our able-bodied peers.

I was part of the accessibility team that was fired and I don't have high hopes that the few that remain will have the capacity and freedom to do as much as we did before.
