Devs spent years disassembling, translating and commenting Mario 64, others made APIs and translation layers to make recompilation more effective and now fuckin slop coders are standing on the shoulders of both to make what is functionally bad emulation

New Release! Star Fox 2 has been converted to use the new Super FX 3 by @randallinden.bsky.social! As of July 20, 2026, this patch requires a new MesenCE nightly to run. Thanks to Randy for adding FX3+battery to the spec so you can save your scores/medals! rhpz.org/r/4292

For those who want a Star Fox 2 conversion: I do have Star Fox 2 working with the FX3, but the FX3 does not support battery backed saves, so you can't save your progress. I've filed a PR for MesenCE to add a new FX3 ROM type with battery support and I'm hoping to hear back soon.

I may be remembering this wrong, but I think SF2 final has a track missing. That Corneria theme that's unused in the June 22nd build I believe ended up being used on the pilot select screen in the final version after collecting all the Pepper medals on all difficulties.
