Cartoons for 6-11 aren’t dead yet. Somehow.

The highlight of the show, to me, is the potion craft segments: rather than magic chants or spells, it'd be a practical, tactile process shot like a cooking tutorial that anyone can follow. magic in this world is a process. we have to see and prepare every ingredient as Bluebell puts it together.

Gabitha is the helper around the shop, who acts like a big sister to Bluebell when she needs a more mature ear to listen to her. She's composed and friendly, and capable of endless feats of endurance, but has a tendency to obsessively help everyone around her at the cost of her own health.

PBB is about the struggle of kids who grow up too fast and don't really get to just have a childhood. It's about separating self image from the neurodivergent 'gifted child' experience. It's also about found family, love between siblings, mother, and daughter, and the pursuit of dreams and passions.

Bluebell's three familiars, who she grew up with like siblings, help her with potioncraft and big scary decision making! Tabby is wise, loyal and brave, but always sleepy. Toad is fun, empathetic, and loves play - especially roleplay! Crow is smart and bookish, but skittish and full of nerves.

Bluebell is a highly curious, energetic, and passionate girl who can also be impatient, clumsy, and bratty. Her greatest strength is creativity, but she has bouts of chronic overconfidence. She tends to drag her friends and familiars into crazy ingredient seeking adventures!

Potions by Bluebell is a 6-11 fantasy comedy show about an apprentice potion seller, Bluebell, who for the first time is left home alone without her mother (she went on a big world saving quest.) BB, who insists she's basically a grown up, is determined to keep the shop running. She's 8 years old.

Anyway, here's stuff from my pitch, 'Potions by Bluebell'! Since the Nick dev team did really like it and say it has a lot special to it that resonates...I want to try to do something with it despite it being passed on. Maybe I can pitch elsewhere? If I had funds I'd want to kickstart a pilot.
