A quick wrap of Queens' 2026 Summer Streets. Everyone I spoke with said we need more events, year-round, that last longer and also are inter-connected! And really cleaver of NYC DOT to start it off with a road race that at least 1,000 people took part in! Smart stuff. @openplans.org

2 days ago I biked past Citicorp Field/Mets Stadium right along Flushing Bay waterfront park. For special events/games they place electronic signs to direct drivers. Afterwards THEY STORE THEM ON SIDEWALKS and I saw this guy struggle to get around one. Idiotic. So much asphalt/parking to store on.
