You can't have ice packs if you have no ice because your freezer has no electricity. You can't open the door because that would allow hot air in and spoil your frozen food.

No cold showers because living in a high-rise apartment building, the water needs to be pumped from the ground into a tank on the roof. No electricity means the pump will not work. Thus, when the tank runs dry no more water.
