A north breeze, low humidity, and below normal temperatures on August 1st:
🌡️ 100° DAYS: On a yearly basis, western Oklahoma sees far more 100° days than eastern Oklahoma. That's happening this year too. Humidity is the big player. The tropical-like humidity in eastern OK leads to slightly "lower" temps but nasty heat indices. Drier air in western OK leads to hotter temps.
