Wrapped Shadow of a Dark Queen, first book in the Serpentwar saga. Really liked this a proper large scale follow up to Riftwar. A lot more of an edge to it than the Tolkienesque original trilogy, which emblematic of coming out in the 90s for sure. Great setup for what comes next!

Partner got invited to a bbq from her old coworker, a middle aged lady from Laos. She brought back some of the food. People can just like... make food that tastes as good as a restaurant in their own kitchens and eat it all the time like this? Literally some of the best food of my life.
