The Lies of Locke Lamora is an enormous fun romp! I made it through Book 2 but iirc my library didn't have the next one so I fell off the series 😅😅 I listened to Crying in H Mart on audiobook, thoroughly captivating but it'll rip your heart out 🥺

I'll read anything by Chambers!! still not done with Monk & Robot series but its on my bedside table (borrowed from a friend). the last book of the Wayfarers series is my favourite for personal reasons 💗 I keep all my BTS albums on this shelf mainly because my CD player is next to it 😅

they're issues of a teen literary journal from the 2000s called Cicada that I was subscribed to when I was that age (so they're oooooold) and honestly the foundation of my love of short stories! but yes lots of poetry printed in those pages too 💗💗

I read Uprooted and Cemetery Boys on my ancient dead kindle! Word Freak sounds fascinating and also, I once shared a cab with Cheryl Strayed 😎 (was her escort to a Lit Fest event lol) buuuuut I still haven't actually read her books 😅😅

my friend put SEA version as #2 as she enjoyed the softer biscuit texture. we feel bad that this puts Korean in last place but only by a margin -- in the end, they are all boreos. and I have so many to continue eating for weeks to come. thank you for reading if you bothered with this thread!! 💜🍪

verdict: I ate these with my friend and afterwards we locked eyes and, somewhat guiltily, agreed that we like the American version best?? mainly because it has the most brown sugar flavour! it stands out the most and certainly is unique as an oreo.

Southeast Asian (packaging seems to be Thai? but my friend bought it in the Philippines) BTS oreo: colour similar to the American version but has a single creme layer like the Korean one and therefore has a similar flavour. biscuit texture crumbles a lot more in the bite so a little softer.

Korean BTS oreo: the purple colour seems richer but not by too much. single creme layer. less sweet and ergo less flavour but that just means it will be a lot easier to graze mindlessly, which is dangerous. less of an aftertaste IMO.

American BTS oreo: pale purple biscuit and most interestingly has a double creme (light brown and white layers) which changes the texture significantly. I felt the sugar crystals in the creme crunch when I bit into it. very strong brown sugar flavour with a nutty lingering aftertaste
