You know, it's not even that I find Shota particularly annoying (though I do), it's that Minako hasn't been in two episodes in a row and I wanna see the funny woohoo rich tomboy cause problems much more than the dime a dozen little boy.

Would you believe that it's another Shota episode? These shows love to introduce these brats and then hammer you over the head with focus episodes about him. I'm not even opposed to this type, I quite like Shiro Kabuto, he has some fantastic episodes to his name. Toppo was fine, Kenta and Chie...

Oh, it's a Masaki Tsuji episode. Now there's a prolific Showa era anime scriptwriter if there ever was one, big career on that guy.

If he learns his lesson, that's a good thing, but it is a little nuts how they shrug off the "funny" car crash he got his sister into.

Julie having a surprisingly level-headed response about how to actually treat a kid is a fun wrinkle to his character, because normally he's just an asshole. At any rate, Rie stressing that these pranks are dangerous and the people are fighting for their lives here seems to have mellowed Shota out.

As a disclaimer, I don't think you should hit children under basically any circumstance, but also: WELL DESERVED

I've only known Shota for several minutes and he deserves the death penalty.

No hat yet (I think it's in the ED??) but he does have a slingshot in case you were worried about them leaning on stock character traits.

Next episode promises the debut of the mandated target audience insert character, a little brother boy with short shorts and a hat named Shota who causes lots of mischief. Time will tell if he's insufferably present in every storyline to come or if he's actually kinda alright like Toppo for example.

They're starting to get the hang of making the robot look cool. It's a messy design, but I respect it in a sort of Shingen Takeda shogun helmet kinda way.

The secretary type girl who is important enough to be in the OP keeps making me think Nanako Dear Brother successfully became a responsible adult here in the space future year of 2050.
