Most rural areas have a ruling class. And they want cheap unfree workers & to pass their fiefdoms on tax-free forever. It ain't rocket science. The fact that we're scared to talk about THAT, ime, is what's costing us a lot of rural voters!

you do sort of understand why people are cynical about capitalism when there is a problem that market mechanisms would be perfect for solving and we refuse to discuss them because they would impact a privileged cast (farm owners)

Bill farmers by how much water they use. Duh." NYT editorial staff freaked tf out & cancelled the piece.
For me there are certain candidates who dramatically outperform the fundamentals (Cooper, Ossoff, Whitmer, Shapiro, etc.) and I think Dems need to figure out how to get more candidates like them to run in more swing and light red states.
